The body works as a whole unit and not individual parts. Like a car with multiple parts, all the systems must be working together and communicating well to function without breaking down. A weak or tight muscle may be causing compensations, because it's just not pulling it's weight. By assessing posture and biomechanics, poorly working muscles can be sought out and these weak "links" can be addressed to have a lasting effect.
Specialized hands-on treatments
You have to address the "unhappy" muscles. They present themselves as being tight and painful. Painful and tight muscles are unable to contract properly and do their jobs. If ignored they will continue to cause pain and affect how the whole system functions. I use active deep tissue massage, cuppingand guashato release complaining muscles and restore function.
One on One Care
all vsits are one on one treatments with a physical therapist
Many people don't have the time or means to go out for physical therapy, especially our senior citizens. Medicare pays for outpatient PT in the home, so why not make it convenient for you? Especially in these times, where no one wants to gather in closed quarters, it makes more sense to stay home. I'll bring everything needed and I'll keep you safe.
I can help you, when others could not....
Don't live with that pain anymore!
Have you tried physical therapy before? Ah, let me guess... they gave you some exercises, maybe did a little massage and put hot packs or ice and electrical stimulation or did some ultrasound. I hear it all the time. "physical therapy didn't help me. I guess I'll just live with the pain." or "I'm old.. it's normal to have pain." or "I think it's as good as it's gonna be." I say "No! You don't have to live with this kind of pain." Okay, for some people with severe injuries, there will always be some amount of pain, but for most people they just haven't found the answer yet. Physical Therapy can work, if you find the right therapist. Someone who can get the source of your pain or problem.
Fast Results
Most of my physical therapy patients go home after their first treatment with a tremendous improvement in their pain. Why? I am quick to decide what will be most beneficial for your pain in the first visit. Your solution may be a simple stretch or hands-on massage or cupping. I'll try my best to figure out what will give you the most amount of relief in the shortest amount of time. I've had so many clients with an ongoing pain that was actually a very easy fix. So, like other professions, who you go to makes all the difference.
I know what works.
I played profession volleyball tournaments through my mid 40s!
As an athlete, I've had a lot of pain over the years, not just injuries but the onset of pain from just what I was describing, muscle imbalances. I used to go the regular PT treatments but then I got strong! I was the most pain-free when I was strong and working out regularly and that was in my 40's! I tell my physical therapy patient's all the time, "stretching and massage will make you feel good, but strengthening fixes the problems." You've tried exercises? Well, I've seen the standard exercise people get from other physical therapists and they often don't work because they don't addressed the most important deficits. Details matter and a physical therapy aide will not be able to correct your form and biomechanics, which is crucial to addressing the specific problems causing pain or reduced function. They don't address HOW the patient is doing an exercise, otherwise known as biomechanics.
Biomechanics Matter!
Patients need to understand that doing an exercise incorrectly will never help them. It may even be making them worse or contributing to their pain. Frustrating, I know. You do all those exercises and you still have pain! You need someone who can teach you how to engage the correct muscles and move without pain-causing habits.
