Does insurance pay for home visits? Medicare will pay for outpatient physical therapy in the home
Do I need a prescription? most insurance require a prescription to see a physical therapist. If you have seen your doctor recently and didn't get one, you may call the office and often they will provide one for you. Medicare actually will allow one evaluation visit without a prescription but one of your doctor's must sign the evaluation/plan of care for continued treatment. Again, if you've recently seen your doctor, it's usually not a problem.
Is it safe to go out to a clinic with covid? The facility where I share space has instituted a strict protocol for staff and clients using the facility. There has been no exposure noted so far. You can download our policy below.
Is it safe to get physical therapy at home? I am taking all the precautions necessary to prevent the spread of covid including getting regular testing to ensure I am never a carrier. You can read about those precautions in my blog.
What is cupping used for? I use cupping to treat painful areas that I believe to have congestion and inflammation. I also use it to release spasms and tight fascial tissues. After cupping, the area treated immediately feels looser and therefore is less painful.
Are there side effects to cupping? the most common side effect is a red or blue mark that may or may not be tender. It would be tender if a lot of inflammation was brought to the skin's surface. This usually last from a couple of days to a week.
Do you do televisits? Yes, insurances will pay for for online visits.
How long are visits? You can expect at least a full hour of treatment
Do you do just massage or cupping treatments? Yes, I'll do an hour massage or a 30' or 60' cupping session
How much do cash visits cost? If a home visit, cost can be different depending on location and travel time. For office and home office visits cost is usually $60/30'.
