Relieve Chronic Pain
Improve Balance and Posture
Restore Function
with One on One Care
What to expect....
No matter the problems, I always start with a comprehensive evaluation looking at posture and biomechanics and seeing how all the parts are working or not working together as a whole. I like to start with methods of relieving pain before prescribing exercises, because a tight muscle can't function properly anyway and pain can change the way a person moves. I know many people feel like a number when going to a clinic with short visits and little time with a physical therapist, but I work alone and my clients get the one on one care they need and deserve.
It can be hard to describe what it is I do with clients. Every client is different, with different goals and needs. For a senior client with a balance disorder, I may not only prescribe balance exercises, but I may also work on hip muscle strength and do hands-on work to nerve entrapments or tight tissues that are also affecting muscle activation. With a client who has back pain, I may have to release tight hip flexors and gluts and address poorly functioning core muscles using DNS based exercises. I always recommend cupping for neck pain, but I'm also versatile and can work with a client who may not want this type of treatment. Be assured you'll at least get a treatment that is focused and thorough, and if I don't think I can help you, or I know you may benefit from a referral, I'll let you know.

Dynamic Muscular Stimulation:
I've studied DNS and utilize some of the concepts and exercises I learned with this approach to rehabilitation. You can read more here... www.rehabps.com/REHABILITATION/Home.html
Vladimir Janda Approach
A large part of my assessment is the use of concepts developed by Vladimir Janda in assessing ones biomechanics and core stability. I use basic and creative exercises to address the muscle imbalances and instabilities that are associated with pain. You can read more here about the upper and lower cross syndromes that are most common. www.muscleimbalancesyndromes.com
